Spring fever

My sister had a lovely engagement party with friends Sunday night and of course I couldn't show up without bringing flowers.  This arrangement had all the colors my sister has been dreaming of for her wedding day...let's just call it a preview.  I'm so incredibly happy for them, they are an amazing couple.  Let the wedding planning begin! 

Side note - don't mind that one wilted scabiosa in the middle.  The arrangement was on the table next to several hot trays and that little guy just had enough.

My garden has been very good to me this year...

Can you believe this gorgeous dahlia came from my garden?  It's amazing!  And there are plenty more just like it.  

Fairytale Wedding

I've been dreaming of doing something like this for a wedding.  How amazing would it be to walk through an aisle of romantic flowers!  It would be like a fairytale.

April florals

I'm so sorry I'm behind on my blog.  Here is an arrangement and bouquet I did in April in mauve, white, and burgundy.  I love the color combination, it's so rich and elegant.  And, I really can't get enough of astrantia.  It's seriously one of my favorite flowers right now.  

Beautiful summer wedding

I was SO lucky to work with an amazing bride this summer at the beautiful Hotel Allegro Downtown Chicago.  They just renovated the hotel and it is STUNNING!  Perfect balance of modern and vintage.  So, when the bride requested modern, garden wedding flowers that compliment the hotel I was all over it.  Here are a few photos of the day...

A different take on hydrangeas

I've gotta say hydrangeas are so beautiful and simple and depending on what you do with them you can create a completely different vibe.  This time I got some gorgeous pale blue hydrangeas and decided to pair them with a wooden box to create a rustic, country feel.  I love it.

Then, I decided I should dress them up a bit for a more traditional vibe.  Here they are paired with genestra branches which really help create a dramatic centerpiece.  These are a great alternative to other branches and I love the small, delicate flowers on them.  

Traditional elegance

Sometimes you need to take it up a notch and go with something that is classic, timeless and elegant.  Here is a tall arrangement of hydrangeas, roses, nerine, and purple trachelium.  What do you think?

Green as can be

Flowers are beautiful and all, but lets take a second to appreciate the beauty of greenery.  Here is a contemporary arrangement that makes a big statement (and lasts for a LONG time).

Classic red with a twist

Red roses are so classic, but honestly I think they need a little help to step up their game.  So, I paired the roses with some celosia.  The two of them complement each other perfectly.
